 Castles  ~ Castle Ruins and City Gates of Europe and the British Isles.

The Photochrom Photograph collection displayed on these pages is dated between 1890 and 1900 and available from the Library of Congress.  These pages are devoted to Castles and City Gates.  In all you will find five web pages of Castles and Gates, two of the British Isles, two of Germany, and one of Europe in general.  

I wish I had time to fill these pages with information about the castles and gates pictured.  But realistically, I just don't.  Fortunately, in today's world, if you need more information, you can google for it.  Post your info in my comments section if you like. 

But with or without the extra details, the photographs here more than speak for themselves.  They are not only beautiful, but they were taken before motorcars arrived to ruin the historical setting.  Best of all, the Photochrom photographs posted here are all in the public domain, which means I am free to use them as I like, as are you.
